Message from the Principal

Greetings,
Welcome to the 2026-2027 school year at George W. Bush Elementary School! It is with great anticipation that I look forward to the new school year and to meeting you and your children. We at Bush Elementary are committed to providing our students a rigorous academic experience in a nurturing and safe environment.
Parents and guardians are critical partners in our students’ academic and social successes at Bush. We welcome and encourage your involvement not only at home but during the school day as well. We will be asking for parent help and involvement throughout the year, expect communication from us in the many ways you can be involved. Good attendance is focus for our site, and we need all students attending daily unless ill or an emergency arises. Students who miss school struggle in keeping up with their grade level peers.
At Bush, we have high expectations for student learning, student behavior, and academic achievement. As such, we have high expectations of ourselves as educators in providing our students quality instructions based on current research and best practices. Our school’s programs are designed to build students’ self-esteem, self-reliance, and critical thinking skills. Together we can create a nurturing environment that encourages academic excellence and personal growth. We invite you to participate in school events and engage in open communication with our staff. Your voice matters, and we are here to listen and collaborate.
We continue to promote a positive environment and ensure the safety and well-being of every student and staff member, and in compliance with the Stockton Unified School District policy, we are a closed campus. Our closed campus policy is to help ensure all stakeholder’s safety. Whenever parents/guardians have a scheduled meeting, they are required to sign in at the main office utilizing our district’s new visitor system called “Hall Pass” (an ID will be required) and obtain a visitor badge. Parents/guardians are always welcome to volunteer in their child’s classroom, parking lot (arrival/dismissal), playground, and field trips. Volunteers have to be cleared through our online system “Be A Mentor” in order to receive a volunteer badge. Please make sure to sign up electronically for ParentVue and ParentSquare. These apps will keep your informed about district and site announcements. Our main front gate opens at 7:45 AM. Students are served breakfast at this time. School begins promptly at 8:10 AM and dismisses at 2:10 PM daily.
It is our hope that this will be an exciting, promising, and successful school year. LET’S GO EAGLES!!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Toni Reed
Principal
